Boredom

Dear reader:

We wrote this when we were really bored. But we were wondering why TYAN would build a motherboard that supports 128GB of ram and we came up with this.

This motherboard supports 128GB of ram and has 16 slots.

What TYAN could have been thinking of when they designed it:
Tyan worker 1: What are we going to do with this overstock of ram slots?
Tyan Worker 2: I don’t know let’s build more motherboard I guess.
The next day
Tyan worker 2: Hey we have a problem.
Tyan worker 1: Whats the problem?
Tyan worker 2: We have way too many ram slots and way too little motherboards to put them on to
Tyan worker 1: I think I have a solution... How many boards do we have? And how many ram slots do we have?
Tyan worker 2:800-boards and 12,801ram slots why?
Tyan worker 1: OK lets... put 16 ram slots on each board...
Tyan worker 2: Are you serious... who in the world will use all of them and plus each slot supports 8GB of ram that means that motherboard will support 128GB of ram.
Tyan worker 1: Ohh well. We will just see how many people will buy it. And since we are running out of solder lets just glue the last 6
Then the next day they go into mass production....
The next week...
Tyan worker 1: what are we going to do with all of these CPU slots?

What Fry's might tell you:

Customer walks into the store with the motherboard
Customer: Hey do you have enough of these thingees to fill all of these slot thingees?
Fry's worker: Ahh let me check...

What could have happened...
Result 1:
Fry's worker: Ahh I sorry we only have enough to fill half of them
Result 2:
Fry's worker: Yeah we have enough but its $899.99 for two ram sticks its 8GB tho so it comes with 2 4GB's
Customer: How much would it be to fill up all of my slots?
Fry's worker: About $7,200 without tax. Would you like to pay in Cash or with a pink slip the car has to be worth about the same amount?
Customer: Ahh can you put it on hold. I have to take out a lone

Customer service call
Customer: I am having problems with my mother board.
cust.service:Um can you please give me the product number on your motherboard?
Customer: sure give me a sec I have to open my sever
A few minutes later...
Customer: It’s S5397WAG2NRF.
cust.service: OK so sir let me enter that into my computer
cust.service: OK so what is your problem?
Customer: The last 6 memory slots don’t work.

What could have happened.

Result 1:
cust.service: Ok...You have to update the adhesion *ahem* software layer patch update
Result 2:
cust.service: Ohh we put them there thinking that no one will fill them all up
Result 3
cust.service: Ohh it’s just for looks... it looks pretty don’t you think?

Fixtunes 8/10

Is your music collection huge and unorganized? Mine was but not anymore! Fixtunes is a music organizer that organizes and renames your songs the way you want! But sadly Fixtunes creator made Fixtunes look like Itunes (from apple). My computer has 10583 songs all of it was unorganized full albums from friends and family. I would have been crazy to organize it one by one. So I decided why not get a program online to organize it for me. A few minutes later I found Fixtunes and let it run overnight. Until the next day my music collection was all organized by album name track artist and year. Fixtunes organized my music collection in 6 hours when it would have taken me countless nights organizing and researching music.

Operating system:
Windows

Pros:
Easy to use
Accurate information

Cons:
Not the full version
Uses a lot of your Computers speed
Free does a certain amount of songs
Does not organize some Chinese and Japanese songs
Looks

to make full you have to pay $24.95

Fixtunes

Don't ask me about the Japaneses and Chinese songs.

War of the Earths

Google's Earth Free Vs. Microsoft's Virtual Earth
What is earth? Earth is our planet our way of living and our life. Or what Dictionary.com calls
"n. (often initial capital letter) the planet third in order from the sun, having an equatorial diameter of 7926 mi. (12,755 km) and a polar diameter of 7900 mi. (12,714 km), a mean distance from the sun of 92.9 million mi. (149.6 million km), and a period of revolution of 365.26 days, and having one satellite." These two programs will help you get you to the place you want to go and back.

Google Earth Free: 9/10
Google Earth is a wonderful earth program made by one of the internet's best known website Google. Google earth is a pretty self explanatory program all you have to do is plug in the place you want to go to and your address and it will try to give you the shortest route their and back.

Operating system:
Windows

Pros:
Flight Simulator
Easy to use
Free
Accurate information

Cons:
Not the full version
Uses a lot of your Computers speed
Map not as detailed
Looks

Google Earth Free

Microsoft Virtual Earth Beta: 8/10

Microsoft Virtual Earth is an easy, to use free earth program. Its looks beats the competitors hands down. But sadly the information of each address isn't as accurate as you need it to be.

Operating system:
Windows

Pros:
Looks
Easy to use
Free
Detailed Maps
Uses Internet explorer so you don't use a lot of you computers speed

Cons:
Beta not full version
Not so accurate information

Microsoft Virtual Earth Beta

Sadly all good things come to an end the winner is Google Earth Free. They are both good Earth programs but Microsoft Windows is not as accurate as you need it to be. If you need to find out if Fry's electronics has the part you need you'll want their number before you go their Google earth's numbers accurate as they will ever get and by the way the nearest Fry's electronic is at:

1695 Willow Pass Rd, Concord, CA
(925) 852-0300

You will never get lost again!

Newegg

Newegg.com has awesome support and service. When I need computer parts, I go to Newegg to see the latest deals for computer hardware. So far I've built three computers by ordering from Newegg. Their website is up to date and has very detailed descriptions on the parts you want. It even has ratings from many of their customers, stating how they liked the part. This website will save you from building computers that are unreliable. It will save you from spending time at the store, and help you undestand how every part will perform. Everything you want and need.

Frostwire 8/10

Have you been using Limewire to download the latest music and videos. Well if you have try Frostwire. Its from the makers of Limewire with the speeds of Limewire PRO and did I mention its free! The cool thing about it is that it finds other P2P (peer to peer) programs like Limewire and a lot of other so you can find what you want and you need. But all of this comes with a price you may accidentally download viruses too! So be careful of what you download. If your computer starts slowing down use Ad-Aware 2007 (Yesterdays Post).

Windows
Mac OS X
Ubuntu/Debian
Red Hat/Fedora

Pros:
